  • Our Best Cozytime's Nutrition Plan For Kids

Proper nutrition is essential for good health, growth, and development. A balanced diet that includes all the essential nutrients is important for providing the body with the energy and nutrients it needs. The following are the essential nutrition requirements for a healthy diet:

  • 1. Protein

Protein provides the body with essential amino acids, the building blocks of life. Lean meats, dairy products, eggs, nuts and seeds, and legumes are all good sources of protein.

  • 2. Fats

Fats are important for providing the body with energy, as well as helping to absorb vitamins and minerals. Healthy sources of fat include olive oil, avocados, nuts, and fatty fish like salmon.

  • 3. Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates provide the body with energy and are found in grains, fruits, and vegetables. Whole grains, such as oatmeal, brown rice, and quinoa, are especially beneficial.

  • 4. Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins and minerals are essential for proper growth and development. Fruits and vegetables are rich sources of vitamins and minerals, while fortified foods can also help provide the body with the essential nutrition it needs.

  • At Sweet Love Childcare Centre, we enforce the following guidelines to ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of all children in our care:
  • Curriculum and Learning:

    • We will provide a curriculum that is age-appropriate, inclusive, and promotes the development of the whole child.
    • We will provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages children to learn, explore, and discover at their own pace.
    • We will provide opportunities for children to participate in a variety of activities, including indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, music, and literacy.

    Communication:

    • Our centre will be using the HiMama App. Our Educators will send several pictures directly to each parent enabling them to see all of the fun and educational activities your child takes part in daily. Parents will receive daily reports through the app which will outline exactly what your child has eaten and how much, how long they napped and if in diapers how many changes.

    • We encourage parents to share any concerns or questions they may have with our Centre Supervisor and we will work together to find solutions.
  • Nutrition:

    • We will provide nutritious meals and snacks that follow Canada's Food Guide, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions, allergies, or cultural considerations.
    • We will provide children with water and milk to drink throughout the day.
    • We encourage children to develop healthy eating habits, and we promote a positive attitude towards food and eating.

    Policies and Procedures:

    • We have policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, staff, and visitors to our facility.
    • All parents and guardians will receive a copy of our Parent Handbook outlining our policies and procedures, and we encourage them to review and ask questions
    • We will follow all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in the CCEYA and by the Ministry of Education and Niagara Public Health, including licensing requirements and safety standards.
  • Our centre is catered by Little Ones Lunches Ltd. Little Ones Lunches provides nutritious hot lunches to centres throughout the Niagara Region for 6 years. We are very happy to be partnered with them.
